What Makes A Poor Team Leader?

In this article I will be describing what I believe makes a poor team leader. I have had a number of particularly bad team leaders in my own career thus far home equity calculator feel that I am rather qualified to write about this subject. Communication

If the team leader is unable to communicate effectively to their team then it is virtually impossible for them to be a good team leader. What I mean by communication is not just an ability to be able to speak fluently but to be able to speak in a clear, concise, confident and positive way.

Discipline

A team leader in a way has to be good and bad cop. They need to have an ability to heap praise, where due, but they also should be able to become tough when required. If the person in question is seen to get away with it then the other team members can quickly become demoralised and are in danger of starting to think something along the lines of; well if they can get away with why shouldnt I?

Motivation

A team leader should be able to keep their team motivated throughout the working week. An unhappy team is unlikely to be able to produce the goods and the level of quality is likely to go down.
